About Me
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
As a disabled Canadian managing chronic illnesses, it became increasingly frustrating trying to find allergen safe skincare products that didn't break the bank.

Our Story
All my life, I've suffered from sensitive, rash prone skin, forced to use scent-free hypoallergic soaps. In 2022, genetic testing revealed that in addition to celiac disease, I had a skin allergy to gluten, which further complicated the need to find sensitive safe soaps. Many hypoallergenic name-brand soaps would utilize oat-based recipes, and vitamin E additives, which contain gluten.
I began experimenting with making my own lotions and soaps once it became clear that finding guaranteed gluten-free, hypoallergenic products from name-brands was near impossible. Local soap artisans had advertised gluten-free soap available, on occasion, but at an unattainable price for one on a limited income.
As I experimented, it became clear that the greatest expense wasn't just the clean, unprocessed oils and butters, but the added scents provided through essential oils. Finding essential oils that could guarantee gluten-free and no additives or fillers added an exorbitant cost. To mitigate this cost, I've worked to find natural ways to add gentle scents through cold-pressing and enfleurage, as well as utilizing natural scent carriers such as honey.
My goal had been to learn to make skin care products that were not just safe for my skin, but nourishing, healing, and provided a gentle scent. I soon found that I was building a surplus as I tried new scent combinations, molds, and critiqued the process. Friends and family soon reminded me that there were many others like me that dealt with similar struggles, and convinced me that perfection wasn't necessary for products to fit our needs. So while the soaps may not always be uniform or come out of the molds as clean as I'd like, they will always provide a gentle cleanse with a price that only covers the associated costs.
